On the road again...

So, not that we are on the road a lot. Actually we pretty much never are, but that is my own other story for which resides a lot of frustration directed at myself, which makes the situation worse, which well it's just like a snowball that turns into an avalanche, but we will save that for another day. So, we leave tomorrow for a two night camping trip to the exotic Quad Cities...woot. Not so excited about the location but am excited about the weekend. We are taking the motorhome for the first time, pack the kiddos and all their stuff (not sure how that all is going to fit) and meeting dad, Jacq, Jonas and Micah up there. I am really excited. We have never done something like this before. However, the problem lies in the packing. I am a list girl, especially when it comes to packing but I just can't make a list. I made a list for all the kitchen stuff we needed. But then I pulled the can of enchilada sauce out of the cabinet and had a mini meltdown (pathetic but true) I forgot to put a can opener on my list. So I had to pull that out. Who thinks of packing a can opener when getting ready to travel?!?! There is SO much more stuff that you have to think about when packing a motorhome. Yikes, hopefully between the three of us being together we will make up for whatever I forget to bring! I will let you know how it goes...

Quiet...please

This is what I realized today. I need quiet time everyday. Usually every day I am able to scrape out 20-40 minutes in which I sit and do absolutely nothing. Usually I will put in an episode of whatever tv show I am currently netflixing. Right now I am alternating between seasons of Scrubs and Grey's Anatomy. Anyway, today I didn't get my quiet time. Instead I talked with Jenn. Which of course is a wonderful thing and we didn't even get to talk long enough, but it happened during my quiet time and I was a whole lot more stressed at the end of the day. So, new rule, I will never let anything interrupt my 20 minutes. Never. I won't answer my phone, my door, my email, my facebook. I will simply sit and veg. Sometimes my 20 minutes includes holding a baby like it probably will today since Mikaela is taking a crazy morning nap, but that is it. My quiet time, mine....

OK, So I just had to share just how cute my sweet girl is. She turned 6 months old this week and is a bundle of joy. Her name is just so fitting, Mikaela Joy! We thought about entering this picture into Morton's cutest baby pumpkin whatever contest. However, we missed the deadline. Would she have won? In our opinion yes, in reality no. You see the winner is whoever has the most money in the "can" in front of their picture and this is what was overheard as a mother stood in front of her baby's picture...
"We are skipping next month's car payment to guarantee we win."
...gotta love it!
She is our cutest baby contest winner of all time!

Oh and I should have said...the prize....riding in the parade on a convertible and $75. Woo hoo, definitely not covering the car payment!

Just kidding!

So, just kidding about the rain yesterday. However, I am glad there was a threat for rain because it didn't warm up until late yesterday. If it would have just been sunny, we would have gone to Splashdown and froze our butts off! I shouldn't be blogging right now as I should be cleaning my bathrooms before Porter's get here, but oh well, it will get done. I feel that I need to clarify one thing about my blog yesterday though. Morton is a great place to live it is just hard that we really do not feel that we have found close friends here. However, I know it is that way no matter where you live. We were just extremely lucky with the fact that our wonderful church home of FBC had a young married's small group where we made instant friends. Then, my other friends came through my Arbonne business, but since I am a loner here in central IL with Arbonne and our church is definitely lacking in the small group area we find ourselves a little lonely at times. I am sure we are not the only ones either!

When it rains...

So, when it rains, well it rains. I had planned on taking Titus to Splashdown for the umpteenth time this summer, but alas the weather makes other plans for me. I am super excited about Tim, Amy and Isabelle coming tomorrow. I can't believe it's been over 2 years since we have seen them. It seems as though it should seem almost awkward that they are coming, but it totally doesn't. Ah, I love good friends although it makes me sad that it takes someone coming to visit us from Colorado to have good friends. Morton is hard....

Oh and Maggie might be pregnant...Scooter...

When he's gone

So, the week is finally here. The week that I have suddenly become a single mother with a 2 1/2 year old and a 4 month old. Am I ready, heck no. But we will be ok. Thankfully we have lots to look forward to. "eah" and "an" gonna be here in 4 days, "po" and "bun" gonna be here in 6 days, daddy returns home in 6 days, and "jeran" comes in 7 days. So, we have made the countdown calendar on the fridge and will count the days off. Something to look forward to every morning. Oh and Aaron bought presents and made videos for Titus that tells him hi from dad and tells him where he hid today's presents. Even I don't know where they are. That will be fun for Titus and will help me remember every day how lucky I am to be married to such a wonderful guy!

Everybody loves spooning

This morning I was awakened in my opinion in one of the cutest ways possible. Titus came in our room at just before 6:00am (not a huge fan of that, but oh well). I was spooning Aaron and here comes Titus, crawls right in, gets under the covers, puts his arm around me and spoons me! Got to say, one of the cutest things he has done. Of course, it didn't last long but I cherished the few minutes that I got of being sandwiched between my two favorite guys in the whole world. Good start to the day, even if it was a little early!

Hello to the world

So, here I am with my very first blog...not sure how I feel about this...I have succumbed to the pressure of fitting in the blogging world. But I am excited. So, today will simply be explaining my title. I think that 1,2,3,4...8,9,10 very much describes what my life revolves around right now. And what is that? My kids of course. Titus is 2 and a half and for the life of us we can't get him to count to 10 without skipping 5,6,7. He will repeat after us and say it, but any time he does it on his own, we lose 5,6,7. But it has seemed so fitting with my life too. Sometimes I feel like we are just going a mile a minute that we seem to skip over the middle part to reach the end, or maybe we just miss it because we are going so fast! Anyway, I guess that's as deep as I should go for today. Stay tuned to learn more about my life as a mom, wife of a pastor, business owner and oh so much more!
